Cascade

She is bounded in the parabolic sweeps of red that wind around her body, forming a sleekly female shape – small breasts, rangy waist, long slim skirt. The red bands are the only part of her that is unambiguously there. The rest, the body defined by those lines, is perhaps only implied: sometimes there appears to be nothing but the red ribbons; sometimes it can be seen as a golden semi-presence as of a shaft of sunlight, or as a shimmer like heat; sometimes the sardonic arch of a shoulder or mannered curve of a finger manifests, suddenly, and she is all-there for a time. She has a narrow chin, and a brow formed where the rendered red becomes a tangle of hair in loose coils, but no face as such. Where her face should lie is instead a red spiral. It moves:does not move in weird ways, static:dynamic. (Some beings find her (non)face itself mesmerizing, to a greater or lesser degree.) Her hair moves in ways that (almost) could be explained by her own movement, or currents of air (but not quite).

To those with even the slightest empathic or psychic ability, she manifests as a strong psychic presence – strong, but curiously blank, or at least unreadable. Indeed, on empathic frequencies she gives off a strong, steady throbbing hum, eerie and seductive.

Background

It is not clear where Cascade came from. She might be young; she might be old; some of her remarks imply that she dies and is reborn cyclically, but she is not always entirely honest. Rumor has it that she was an experiment of Upwarp's Gamma Sector psycharchy, or possibly a creation of one of the technocratic cells in UpTop, but she refuses to give a straight answer. She might also be a complicated performance art piece, or a joke, or a whim of the Mess itself.

Cascade is a hypnogirl, a living gyre. Her powerful parapsychic presence and physical trance-inducements is capable of overriding the conscious will of most biological organisms and of overwriting the programming of a wide cross-section of cyber-mechanistic life-forms. She has no biological gender, though she describes herself in feminine terms; she does not appear to consistently have a body at all (though she is capable, when she feels like it, of physical touch).

She does not seem to be completely in control of her own hypnotic powers.

OOC Notes

Cascade is a hypnodomme, albeit in someways a confused and inexpert one. Themes of hypnotism, telepathy, and mind control will likely come up in roleplay with her. OOCly, I will endeavor to tread carefully, but please, if Cascade is doing something that distresses you or that you do not want to deal with, please let me know OOCly and I will back it off. (If, on the other hand, you want me to push that aspect of Cascade more with your character, please do mention that, too!)
