Description:

Flickering oilsheen-colors flood the surface of a vaguely bipedal form. Two legs, two arms, a rounded somewhat oblong head, a long tail. Coalesce's liquid substance can be seen under the partly translucent shinyslick skin, swirling around. banded light and dark fluid-dynamics. The overall color of the outer skin ripples somewhere between deep greens and blues, instantly darkening under any coherent light focused directly onto its surface.

The green-blue layer seems to ripple just under a clear layer of another substance. This is the one that gives Coalesce a slick reflective quality when he moves. The material is supportive enough to enable him to stand upright, but ripples flexibly and appears to be perfectly form-fitting like rubber latex. Whatever form he takes, that is. At times the midlayered film changes from ceaseless random pattern to ordered colorfield, supplying an appearance of skin, fur, or any other guise.

His head is somewhat well-defined in contrast to the rest of the body, with eyeridges above rounded fully colored blue eyes, and a hint of mouth sealed shut under the layers. His voice still bubbles softly, amplified to come from near the mouth.

Technical notes:

Coalesce is made of plasm, which is semi-organic cells held together by nanotechnology. The substance was originally designed as a working biological computer, but somewhere along the way Coalesce's personality ended up in it. Cells can be storage or processors, essentially linked in massively parallel and vastly redundant arrays. Every single cell in his body is also part of his mind. Whether he used to be a more 'traditional' organic being, or is some poor deluded AI with manufactured memories, doesn't really matter. Currently he has a tough self-supporting 'skin' of nanotech-enhanced latex.

Current plots:

Coalesce had a run-in (read, alternate sex) with a plant character female named Cassilda, which involved focused sonic vibrations and a photogasm. The plant-girl released a few spores, while retaining a small amount of his plasm inside her 'flower'. She hasn't been seen around since (OOC'ly, hasn't even been online that I can tell). The spores, meanwhile, have found a fertile growth medium in Coalesce, and have branched out into all his major limbs in an apparently cohesive organism. Due to redundancies and the vast capacity of his own substance, Coal can't really even tell if the plant has its own personality, is using his resources, or is even intelligent or mere decoration. That may change, however.
