Characters/White Doe Dancing

There is a glade, somewhere between Top and Bottom, where the unbridled tangle of ferns and flowering creepers explodes in the heart of a meadow surrounded by the stately cinnamon-colored trunks of the great old trees. If you come at the right time -- and it may be any time -- you may find a white deer there, dancing. Her fur is snowy white, her eyes sloe-black; her hooves and hornbuds are painted silver. Around her waist is a loose belt of tooled leather and beaten silver shaped like oak-leaves and acorns. She dances.

She dances with an expression of focused ecstacy, with movements graceful and wild and unpatterned. While she dances, she cannot be interrupted. She will not respond to spoken conversation; attempts to physically stop her seem, peculiarly, to fail. But join her in her dance, and she will respond: will shape her movements to yours, will make a conversation and a communion of the steps. All of her soul is in the dancing.

She may be one of the Neo-Boreals, or she may not. She may live another life when she is not in her dancing-place, or she may merely dance in other places -- or perhaps outside the dancing, she does not exist. Rumor has it that, when she is not dancing, she is a scientist of Up, unrecognizable with her hooves polished black and clad in a dark jumpsuit and white lab coat. But how could you verify that? She will not speak; her name is unknown, let alone her life, her home, her history. She is the White Doe Dancing: that is all.

She is a Mask.

This is one of the most beautiful things I have seen on this wiki. We love you, mystery spiral girl, whoever you are! <3 -- OR

Yes. This is so poetic. I need to find some excuse to refer to her. Somehow. -- Twin
