To all legends, there was an element of truth, and the truth to this legend was far more unusual. Outside ephemeral realities, some force collected and protected the memories of creation, bringing muse-inspired visions and dreams to those who would see or hear them. Thusly, Benjamin was. And thusly, the Aleph Museum was. A dragonesque muse, with a predilection for clothes on the verge of costumes, tools on the verge of toys, and reality on the verge of dreams... Or perhaps it's all the other way around? Be eternal grandparent and eternal child, a galaxy on the end of a yo-yo string... the telescope and kaledioscope are as one to view it all. Being once the Curator of the Aleph Museum Proper, Benjamin once maintained the museum's side of the exhibits and held the balance of eternity therein.

Many came from across the universe to the Museum to create universes of unparalleled elegance, depth, and beauty. But artists can be tempermental, petty, and jealous...The artist who-would-become Hydra was one of the greatest and most talented exhibitors of the Museum, but underneath her kind and stately exterior beated a heart fraught with the desire to be the only artist of the Museum. She concocted a plan to eliminate all the other exhibits with a wash of pure entropy, using the Museum as plumbing to flood the other exhibits. Although the Museum was protected versus entropy, the other exhibits were less so. Benjamin stopped this attack by cutting the other exhibits free of the Museum at once and allowing the brunt of the entropy to flood the Museum instead. It could not take the concentrated force, subsequently destroying the Museum. Unfortunately, if justly grim, the entropy also backflooded into its origin and turned the once beautiful land into a complete wasteland, killing everyone, creator and all. The entire horrible nightmarish mass then developed into Hydra, the culmination of this tragedy.

Benjamin's spirit now resides in Mel, who is signifigantly more uncanny and quirky than his past self. The Museum lives again.
