Jin Wei is a stately
[Lao-Hu], an older vulpine gentleman with orange fur, white undersides, and black markings on his muzzle, ears, and lower extremities. His hands are small and feminine, and little oval spectacles are perched upon his somewhat shorter than average muzzle. His eyes are dark, brownish-amber, with small pupils keen with eerie intelligence. He typically wears a red kimono-like robe with black blossoming trees as a pattern, longevity circles watermarking in alternation. It is tied with a black and red sash. An impressive assortment of nine fox tails, in sets of 3 sizes, dangles from his posterior in a pleasant, almost window-box flower garden display. A pointed Asian straw hat adorns his head, and matching sandals protect the soles of his black, human-like feet. A brown cudgel with an ornately carved head is rarely far from his hands.
People who meet Jin Wei generally are left with the impression of a kind and grandfatherly sort of creature. His name means "Gold" (Jin) and "Precious" (Wei), the two elements together implying his highly venerated nine-tail status. He claims, rightly if by his tails, to be nine centuries old.
Jinwei likes disassembling Mah Jongg dragons, but is not very partial to Wei Qi. He gets along quite well with Zhong Yi who comes from The Lighted City Of Pearls which has been his home for some time. He also shares much in common with Shen Mi, who comes from the Stars and denotes that he reminds her of someone she knew ages ago by the same name.
