Lupe
Background
- Where to begin, where to begin... 'The start of things' would be her answer. To put it into a nutshell: she's a summoning. A creation, as it were, of a Chitin Queen. It would seem that one of their rank, a mantis, had devoted a good deal of time towards solving a grand riddle: what is the Mess, and why was it made? It wasn't until it heard the saying 'the walls have ears' that it came to an idea - to animate a piece of the Mess, and ask it directly.
- The experiment was quite the success, in that it animated a wall in Top, along with the attached hyena statue. Now granted, the 'consciousness' imbued was very rudimentary, and within the wall. Not the sort familiar or even wanting duplicity - the wall talked, and how. For hours the mantis asked question after question, even going back to re-visit little minutia. But the longer the conversation went on, the greater an unseen vortex began to appear underneath the mantis. And with one last question, the ground suddenly was yanked from beneath her creator, who vanished without a trace.
- The following days were a blur; she moved from one warp to another, seeking to augment her consciousness until she gained self-awareness. This happened in the Park, where she came to with no recollection of what happened. Her only momento of the missing time frame was the painted-on bit of graffitti from Bottom: Lupe.
Description
- The only 'static' thing about her is her hyenid form - at times it's attached to her wall, at other times not. Her materials also shift as well: starting out as marble, then steel, then precious metals and gems, and finally... flesh. In any form, she's likely to be somewhat dressed, either in toga or work-clothes dredged from the ruins of Top.
