Characters/Masks

They do not belong to me. They do not belong to you. They belong to (every/no)one. Masks are worn, but not owned. Take it up and wear it; put it down, and it is no longer yours. It has a power of its own.

These characters are 'free use'. Mention them; spoof them; use them as NPCs, play them temporarily, if you like. Or adopt them. Sort of like a more fleshed-out version of Players Wanted, a bank of potentially-useful characters or random factors to use at a moment's notice.

If you want to use one, just do it. There are no permissions to be asked or granted. If you flesh one out, think about writing in the details on their page.

Unless otherwise noted, there are no actual MUCK characters corresponding with any of the Masks listed. If you want to play one temporarily, you can rename your own character (@rename me=newname password) or create a puppet (see the [Building Guide]).

If you have an idea for a new Mask, simply write up a character page for them, and include a link to this page at the bottom. (Use the full name, [[Characters/Masks]], so that it shows up when people view the full list.)

If you decide to adopt one permanently, remove the link to this page. You might wish to ask around first, just in case anyone else has designs on it.
