PACIFIC stands for Personal And Corporeal Involvement For Integrated Communities.
Members of PACIFIC are predisposed to civic-mindedness, putting their very minds and bodies to the service of others. Moving apartment buildings, living amusement parks, morphing clocks and sentient adding machines are some of the members. They are always, always subservient to the community, fulfilling requirements without forethought or conscious effort, and are happy to do so.
Their beliefs stem from their deep sense of responsibility toward their given communities, as well as the community of the Mess and the Puzzlebox as a whole, which they believe to be, like themselves, civic-minded individuals; and that their nestings are fractal. The Mess within the Puzzlebox, and the Puzzlebox within something else within something else ad infinitum.
They tend toward pacificsm, as their name suggests, and don't understand why people don't just give up their entire beings to their communities. They believe themselves to be mere tools, toys and instruments, though they are fiercely individualistic in their styles. Artful functionalism.
PACIFIC has no clear leader, as it's more of a club than an organized faction. They tend to hold membership to a specific area, whose name is prefixed to the faction's name. Thus, Down-PACIFIC, Charm-PACIFIC, and to more specific degrees, Up-PACIFIC (Delta).
PACIFIC members tend to have elaborate mody modifications, and like the Modulari tend to be constantly shifting. Though unlike that faction, the changes are caused more by environmental conditions than personal whim. Some options are to have a gender that adjusts based on the population of the room, or a height that's tied to the ambient temperature, or a second head that acts as a telephone. Any way you put it, their physical shifting is tied to something, even if it's as simple as the desires of others.
Some will merely serve as entertainment, backs turned into levers and buttons that change what they look like or how they think. There was one who could morph into a slot machine, dispensing candy upon hitting a jackpot. Purely for the benefit of others, naturally, which is a flimsy veil that distinguishes the latter's whimsical choices in civic duties from the Bubble Dolls.
Having most of their inhibitions blocked, they have no qualms as serving as a tool. Their egos have been systematically driven out, and will never ever ever EVER refuse being used for their intended purpose, which doesn't matter since they can't control these functions anyway. Other than their duties, they hold no subservience. You can't expect a walking, talking typewriter to dance for you on command. Maybe if you got it drunk...
