*Serelix: Glowing weasel who lost one lover too many(and too close) to the Strangevirus. Whether he wants to cure those afflicted or just get revenge on the Virus is unclear, although he doesn't specifically concentrate on those he knew.

Note that the Charlie Stross short story "Antibodies" describes a dimension-travelling secret organization reminiscent of the SMC. Might be good inspiration.
