These eyes, oddly, throughout all their were, are yet myopic, or short sided. It seems that their original bearer did not wish to repair her vision, only add the necessary enhancements for a visual readout of her datasystems. The eyes both drift in a clear box, designed to hold them aloft, and the various data about them scrolls in green text, three dimensional arrows pointing out the ancient technology at work within the customized eyes, and it tells a little about their former owner, Lysette Baden Mitza, and how she created them.
The eyes are too old to be dated, but estimates range to half a billion years old. Furthermore, they're not so much held in position as they're _floating_. They're free from gravity, like all of the hyena apparently is.
