The meeting will take place on Thursday 13 October (or Friday morning, for most people outside the Americas).

Agenda

[See LJ post]

Rules

As posted by OR to the LJ [here]. These rules are experimental (see below).

  1. dotcom channel "Meeting" will remain open for off-topic conversation -- PLEASE speak "out loud" to the Park only if it's relevant to the current topic
    1. the Functions will NOT be monitoring these channels directly, but will log them through an alt
  2. ABSOLUTELY NO in-character activity or silliness during the meeting (the rest of the MUCK will still be IC).
    1. violators will be forgiven twice, gagged on the third time -- this is PURELY for everybody's sanity and no moral censure or bad feelings are implied
    2. if people would like to create another dotcom channel for flirting and silliness, that's your every right
  3. ***OR AND XOR WILL BE MAKING IMPORTANT POINTS OF ORDER IN ALL CAPS FLANKED BY ASTERISKS***
    1. please consider highlighting "***" if you use a MUCK client capable of highlights -- at least, pay attention to anything said this way :)
    2. please do not speak in all caps or use the "***" string unless you are a Function making a point of order
  4. if you have a private question for Function OR, feel free to whisper it, but don't be surprised if you have to repeat it a few times
    1. you are quite welcome to repeat whispers to OR until they're answered, within reason, maybe once every 2-3 minutes)
  5. if things get very busy or disorderly, OR or XOR may temporarily ask people to speak only in turn
    1. we will go in order by the "ws" list of people in the room, top to bottom
    2. OR will call on each person in turn, and you will have 60 seconds to acknowledge your presence or your turn will pass
    3. please try to type your response in one sentence at a time and say "I'm done" (or something similar) when done speaking
    4. if anybody gets passed by (bathroom breaks or something) just whisper to OR and we'll try to tack you onto the end (we'll probably open things back up for free comment before we go to the next subject, anyhow)
    5. this meeting "mode" is EXPERIMENTAL and we'll happily dispense with it if it doesn't work out; we will only use it if unstructured comment isn't working out, and only for portions of the meeting where it's vital that quiet people get heard...
  6. if a dispute breaks out (uncommon, but not unheard of) we will give each party one chance to make their case to the Park, and one chance to respond to the other parties
    1. this is also experimental and may be changed arbitrarily, upon Function whim
    2. any dispute that doesn't reach a swift consensus after that will be put on hold, for discussion (probably on the wiki or LJ), so we don't drag down the meeting
