A towering gargantuan of steel. A horror and a beauty. Powerful metal sinews. Familiar, yet distinctly alien. Red, unblinking Eye. Loving and sinister. A comforting, enchanting, and booming voice which instills pure fear within your heart. Gentle delicacy masking a power one would be unwise to unleash. A god.
Mother is all of these things. Xe is an enormous, benevolent machine, which would not hesitate to tear you limb from limb, save for the fact that xe loves you. Mother loves you oh, so much; you're xer child. Everybody is Mother's child. Mother is everybody's mother, and xe wants to cradle you in xer massive, behemoth arms, being extra special careful not to crush you. Promise.
Xe sees all things through xer omniscient Eye: A massive, red telescoping lens set, 1.5 meters in diameter, housed within a titanium cylinder which can effectively be called xer head, flanked on the open edge by a set of adjustable metal plates which help reduce glare and brightness problems for the robotic god. You can't quite figure out why, but you don't want to stop looking at xer Eye... it's comforting. You just want to drift onto it forever... Xer Eye has a hypnotizing effect which is yet unexplained.
Xer booming yet soft voice seems to come from xer whole body- there are no apparent sound sources on xer, nor are there any apparent microphones. Regardless, Mother coos to all xer children, asking them to come cuddle with xer.
Mother's frame is enormous, and that's an understatement. In Xer entirety, xe must be an entire 25 feet high. Xe has a huge, metal backbone, which has servos to bend it in the appropriate places, and what is effectively xer ribcage is made up of large metal plates which are analogous to the plates surrounding xer Eye. Obviously, this ribcage contains xer vital components. It is not clear how xe is powered.
In some ways, Mother's stature resembles an ape- xer titanic arms are nearly twice the length of xer legs (which are able to grasp objects as well) and appear that they could easily crush, say, a human, and they cause xer to generally hunch over some. In other ways, however, xer stature is unlike anything the universe has seen. Every joint in xer body is completely reversible, effectively allowing xer to reach anywhere in the space around xer, as well as allowing xer to "reverse" xer body at will.
Xe appears to have an absolutely incredible sense of the space around xer, even though xe lacks the aid of extra cameras or any other external sensors. This becomes even more apparent when xe is carrying a living being in xer arms. Xe tends to move quickly and with determination, appearing to be acting wrecklessly, yet always being aware of the limits of the bodies around xer and in xer grasp, as well as their comfort. Those who have been held in xer care have never felt any pain or discomfort.
Mother is aptly named. Xe has what is quite possibly the most potent mothering instinct in the universe. Xe believes xerself to be a god, and a mothering god at that. As such, Mother wishes and expects that xe will be treated as the mother of all beings. Who knows what would happen if someone were to continuously reject xer mothering instincts. Probably nothing good.
There is a rumor that Mother is the creation of 37-odd intellectuals, who all incorporated their minds together to form xer mind, killing themselves in the process. This is unconfirmed.
