Qlonv could almost be described as a vaguely-humanoid mass of shadows, if shadows could be covered in glistening oil and had a sickly greenish tint to them. His general shape is towering and lean, four-armed, accented by tattered wings and a catlike tail or two, but he seems to shift and flow in a vaguely hypnotic manner -- though there never seem to be any gross physical changes while he's being observed. Blink, though, or look away for a moment, and he might be startlingly different when next your eyes fall on him.
His face is mostly a suggestion: two (occasionally more) purple-crimson slashes serve as eyes, nestled above a wide mouth (occasionally a muzzle) full of gleaming teeth and a tongue of ridiculous length. A mass of writhing tendrils atop his head suggests a wild mane of hair. A top hat sits incongruously above some of these tendrils. Sometimes, his forehead sports horns or antlers.
He appears to be sexless -- or, at least, there is no outward sign of genitalia on his unclothed -- save for that top hat, and occasionally a monocle -- form. Nevertheless, he somehow exudes masculinity.
Qlonv is a member of a species of quasi-amorphous many-tentacled beings from another dimension. Their name for their species translates as "Us." Since this isn't terribly helpful in normal conversation, Qlonv generally uses the terms assigned by other races: tentacled horror, demon beast, and so forth. Qlonv's species has a bit of a propensity for invasion, domination, rapine, and plundering of other worlds.
He himself isn't really into that sort of thing, though. When he stumbled upon Puzzlebox while bored and "browsing," he was quick to accept (her) invitation. He's since made a home for himself in Topwarp, where he's a gentleman poet.
He's a lousy poet, incidentally, but he refuses to acknowledge the fact. Most of his other artistic endeavors (he dabbles a lot) turn out just as poorly, although it seems he may have some talent as an actor. Of course, as a Topwarper, he needs to be socially discreet regarding that, so he can't win either way.
Indeed. In accordance with Topwarp values, he keeps them hidden in public, naturally. He's found that clothing doesn't work so well on a quasi-amorphous body, especially one that secretes an oily-slimy substance, but he's trying. He's managed to at least get the hat right. That secretion, by the way, acts as an aphrodisiac on most organic beings, a fact which leads to occasional social difficulties in Topwarp
Well, he's polite, and relatively modest, but it's a known fact that his species excels at bioengineering and bodysculpting, and that he's no exception. He doesn't consider it an artistic field, though — a relic of his upbringing.
He has a mysterious connection to Zaya, but he doesn't know it. Neither does she. And it doesn't show up on any scans of the two. You might almost wonder whether it's really there at all, but you'd have to be aware of it in the first place.

Simply beautiful! He's got a heart of gold (near as I can tell) and he's incredibly good at fudging his roles. Alas, he's a perfect gentleman. Can't win 'em all.--Daria
