A meme popular enough that some consider it cliche. Nanotechnology does have it points, and some people achieve interesting artistic things with variations on it (like
Untitled), but there're all kinds of alternatives, like superstrings, even more exotic physics, dream mechanics, apparently supernatural ones, memetic trickery, glowstring, transublimation, and other jargon-memes.
