It's hard to imagine that one could lose an entire island in Topwarp, but such is the nature of the place. Elysium only recently came to light, an apparently abandoned Victorian Retrotech Collective enclave cut off from the rest of Top, steamship service now restored to it. It is, with very few exceptions, uninhabited.
In many ways, Elysium embodies nearly all that Topwarp stands for, with large but clearly calculated areas of traditional organic landscapes and quaint baroque structures. Technology there has been stagnated to the classic late 19th century style, the clearest hallmark to its factional origin.
The island itself is controlled by the Throne. In this case, it is a quite literal statement: In the heart of Elysium castle, there is an actual throne with a highly advanced intelligence that exerts control over the whole island. Some communication between the rediscovering expedition and the Throne have yielded the codes which are enforced upon the island, much of which are unremarkably similar to Topwarp's own:
The only real difference between Topwarp and Elysium seem to be that enforcement comes directly from the Throne and its Royal Brasstacean Guard.
Since its recent re-awakening, the Throne has apparently 'chosen' Jeremy as Magistrate.
One has to wonder why such a perfect VRC enclave like Elysium would be abandoned. Some have hinted at Neke involvement (see Elysium and the Neke).
The Curators have taken an active interest in mitigating the island's preservation as well as aiding in re-establishing it as a peaceful community within Topwarp.
It is now one of the Attractions of Topwarp.
