- I was rereading this, and the quote screamed out at me as very Puzzleboxian. Is, indeed, everything done in the Mess part of a pastime, a game, a giant sprawling theater-in-the-round? Even the more ascetic and demanding factions... well, some people prefer structured games with rigid rules to free-form play. And the prevalence of amnesia -- is it merely the setup for an elaborate and immersive riddle-game of Who Am I? Is the game perhaps a game to its inhabitants as much as to their players?
