Sometimes the distinction between The Mess's citizens and its landscape can be a fine one. After all, though it's never come out and admitted it to its inhabitants, Puzzlebox is clearly sentient at the very least. Even its seemingly inanimate features can seem "haunted." Is this just a side-effect of the Mess's enigmatic nature? Are they just conduits for a greater mind? Or do they possess wills and agendas of their own?
