You are new, initiate. You must be taught.

  1. The most complex plans often begin and end with a simple motivation followed by a simple question.
  2. Remember, you are a Queen! Act with dignity. Let the servants take care of small matters.
  3. Observance of ritual is not a small matter.
  4. You are not to divulge secrets.
  5. Unless those secrets are worthless to you anyway.
  6. Do not bother to be profound; that is for philosophers. Cryptic references are, however, appropriate.
  7. You have as long as you wish to lay your plans. Be patient, even when you are maddened by the need to act.
  8. You are also a predator. Predators learn when and how to strike most swiftly and accurately at their prey.
  1. I want what she has. Should I make her stuff mine, or just get my own copies of it?
  2. Th'thsthn ignores the servant standing respectfully a pace away from her. At a pause in the conversation he kneels, and she turns to hear his message.
  3. "Today we observe the sunset." A pause. "Begin." The chorus shrills with evening music. One tiny, soft voice mistimes its only note in the performance, however... one small voice which will have no voice come the sunrise observance.
  4. There are no secrets, only truths which have not been shared.
  5. All information is to be safeguarded, for it is power, and a Queen must have her power.
  6. We have said too much already.
  7. Patience is always rewarded in time. Do not forget to observe as you wait.
  8. Do not hesitate when the moment comes. Always have something ready.

This is the way of the Chitin Queens.
