CORLIAYNE

Overview

Corliayne is not a single entity. Corliayne are several distinct personalities, some stronger than others, all sharing the same nanomotile, psionically-active body.

Corliayne don't say much of how they came to be in that state. If the question is asked, they generally change the subject; if pressed, they simply refuse to discuss their past. They also don't go into much detail about the substance that comprises their body. What's known is that it has some crystalline elements, some organic, and some mechanical; the individual components behave together as a conglomerate of nanomachines. However, Corliayne tend to generate a short-range field which defies attempts to scan deeply.

Description

The form Corliayne present is largely based on which personality is most fully in control at any given time. This is not necessarily clear-cut; they form a co-operative union of sorts, with some personalities stronger than others, and most having their specific strengths and weaknesses.

Typically, Corliayne appear in monochrome; they only seem to bear any sort of colour when experiencing strong emotion. They otherwise appear as a standard anthropomorphic being, frequently clothed, though that clothing is formed from their body and readily absorbed into it. Sometimes, the details of that clothing shifts even when viewed, though the overall form tends to stay constant unless they specifically change it.

They don't usually appear as a meld of species unless the dominant personality was originally such a hybrid. Sometimes, when a personality-splinter is only briefly brought to the surface, the body gains some of its characteristics, but doesn't go through a full change before reverting back to what it was before.

They go through the motions of breathing, and even make some of the related sounds(sighs, coughs, gasps, etc), but don't actually alter the air in any way aside from leaving it slightly warmer.
